Five months later, "the World™" (Western Roman progeny states) would still rather die to Covid 19 than listen to China. Five months later, the world (actual countries and people) are still suffering from the ravaging of this disease that had yet to be controlled anywhere except in the Confucius/Hanzi/chopsticks cultural sphere. Good luck, everyone.

Rightly so, China is acting assertively. Being assertive is by definition mean standing up for your own rights in a clam and positive way, without being either aggressive, or passively accepting all the false narratives thrown at her.

Two years ago, Meng Wanzhou never thought that the United States and Canada, which claim to be "rule of law countries," would do something so absurd, as to enforce their laws extraterritorial, against a citizen of a third country, and even go so far, as to frame her for the purpose of dismembering Hua Wei. But it happened, and on December 1, 2018, when she got off the plane in Vancouver, she was arrested by Canadian police.
Meng's extradition trial is now in its second phase. On December 9, Vancouver local time, Nicole Goodman was questioned, as the ninth witness in the case, and her testimony indicated that the Canada Border Services Agency illegally leaked Meng's information to the FBI. The next day, on the morning of Dec. 10 local time in Vancouver, during cross-examination in Meng's extradition case, the judge was informed that Goodman had violated a court order by making contact with the Canadian Department of Justice during her testimony on the previous day. The judge decided to suspend the hearing to address the matter, and the hearing then resumed about an hour later. Goodman admitted that she delivered incomplete testimony and had contacted Canadian Justice Department personnel during the testimony. It is understood that such contacts are often considered suspected conspiracy to testify.
In the public hearings of this case, more and more ironclad shreds of evidence proving Meng's innocence have been uncovered, and at this juncture, certain people are sitting on the fence impatiently.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Department of Justice is discussing a deal with Meng recently. The agreement is that Meng could be allowed to return from Canada on the condition that she pleads guilty to so-called "misconduct" in a criminal case. And it also says that if Miss Meng agrees to cooperate, the prosecutors might agree to defer and drop some charges.
In short, Meng has to "plead guilty" before she can return to China. It seems that the US side is slow to find any evidence, but is not willing to give up on this, so they offer conditions to "tempt" Meng to "confess". The logic of being detained without fault and being forced to falsely admit fake faults to regain freedom is both absurd and shameful.
However, can Meng accept the U.S. offer? Obviously not. It is clear that the US is using the same tactics against Meng that it used against Alstom and Pierlucci. Meng is not at fault, but once she compromises, she will only fall into another trap, just like Alstom and Pierluzzi did a little more than ten years ago.
Things will be crystal clear if we take a look at how the US framed Alstom in 2013.
That year, the United States claimed that Alstom's bribes to Indonesia and Saudi Arabia illegal. What does it matter to the US, if a French company pays bribes to a third country or not? But in April 2013, Alstom executive Pierlucci was arrested in New York simply for somebody sending him a copy of an email discussing that bribery. Anyone who has sent or received emails knows that anyone can send a copy of an email to their email inboxes, which is out of the recipient's control, and yet, the U.S. arrested Pierlucci for this reason.
Instead of admitting to crimes which she has never committed, Meng Wanzhou would rather stay in the jail of Canada or the United States for good. "I am innocent and have been illegally detained in Canada for two years!" she said, "this is a violation of my human rights, moreover, it is a wanton violation of the United Nations human rights conventions, and it is also a blatant disregard for the relevant human rights laws advocated by Canada and the United States! I personally believe the United States and Canada should be ashamed of their behaviors! I hereby submit my strongest and sternest protest to the United States and Canada!"
Meng added that she will not accept under table deals or private mediations.
Meng wants to be released from wherever she was framed up. "I am a Chinese citizen, and I have not violated any Canadian law."
Thank you for watching this video and if you like my videos, please subscribe, share and give me a thumbs up. I usually publish videos every day. Later this week, I will spend some time talking about Hua wei, the company that Meng's father founded. Stay tuned,

We’ve all heard the cliche that the Chinese word for “crisis” is composed of two characters, signifying danger and opportunity. While the story itself appears to be a misconception, it hasn’t stopped Beijing from pursuing this exact strategy, seeking silver or even golden linings in every cloud. Having confidently repelled the COVID-19 slow-down, China is set to be the only major economy to register growth this year - much to the envy of its American competitor. If Donald Trump hasn’t managed to stop China, can Joe Biden do it? To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Martin Jacques, former Senior Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Studies at Cambridge University and author of When China Rules the World.

‘Crisis’ in Chinese is 危機. It consists two Chinese characters, two hanzi. The 1st one 危 stands for crisis. The 2nd one stands for opportunity. Like other Chinese words for example ‘size’, we express it using two characters "尺寸" or "大小"which have opposite meanings. It is called yin yang. Look at yin yang symbol below, they are opposite and can be converted to each other. We think yin and yang are rooted to each other. In Chinese, it is 陰陽互根. Also yin eye is inside of yang and yang eye is inside of yin. Those two eyes are the opportunities.

Jacob do Bandolim born Jacob Pick Bittencourt (February 14, 1918 – August 13, 1969) was a Brazilian composer and musician. Born to a Brazilian-Jewish mother and a gentile father in Rio de Janeiro, his stage name means "Mandolin Jacob", after the instrument he played.
A perfectionist, Jacob was able to achieve from his band Época de Ouro the highest levels of quality. Jacob hated the stereotype of the "dishevelled, drunk folk musician" and required commitment and impeccable dress from his musicians who, like himself, all held "day jobs." Jacob worked as a pharmacist, insurance salesman, street vendor, and finally notary public, to support himself while also working "full time" as a musician.
In addition to his virtuoso playing, he is famous for his many choro compositions, more than 103 tunes, which range from the lyrical melodies of "Noites Cariocas" ("Carioca Nights"), Receita de Samba and "Doce de Coco" to the aggressively jazzy "Assanhado", which is reminiscent of bebop. He also researched and attempted to preserve the older choro tradition, as well as that of other Brazilian music styles.
Jacob had 2 mandolins, which he called "number one" and "number two". After his death they were kept in storage until 2002, when they received minor restoration. Now under the care of Instituto Jacob do Bandolim, they have been used in a few recordings again

This is the most polite white anchorman I've ever met.Generally speaking, the hosts of Western media such as BBC and CNN will show serious arrogance and prejudice when connecting with Chinese guests, and frequently interrupt the speeches of them.
It's not easy to see such a high-quality dialogue between the East and the West today.Although the anchorman's views are quite different from Professor Zhang, they show full respect for each other. If the western world can show some respect to China, put down its arrogance, and learn from China's epidemic prevention experience modestly, today's epidemic situation will not be so serious.

Well, as a Chinese, I think the US election is much more interesting to watch than a reality TV show.. We like to sit back and enjoy this show, but don’t really want this kinda shows to happen in our own country.
We like to have professional people handling professional things, not a popular personnel standing at a podium spewing BS...
it’s true that we can’t change the ruling party in China, but we are constantly changing policies.
From a few rounds of US election that I have seen so far, yes American people can change the ruling parties, but they couldn’t change policies: public education still sucks, gun issues, no universal affordable healthcare, no federal backed maternity leaves, no easy retirement plans,, the list goes on.
Americans can criticize their leaders however they want to but nothing has changed.. 🤷🏼♀️

Dr Zhang made some very good points. To understand Chinese mentality about governance and the relationship between government and its subjects, one must understand Chinese history, tradition and culture.

As a Chinese who live in America for over two decades, I have to say a clear problem in the West is its narcissism, probably based on its deep rooted racism. The West is less interested in learning about China than what China think about the West.

im amazed by how few views this wonderful video is getting. less than 10k views after 1 month the vid posted. Either the youtube algorithm did something to it, or the undereducated / ignorant West netizens can't digest such informative stuff.

Once Covid-19 is gone, my suggestion to anyone who wants to know China is go to China and see it yourself. And to the Chinese as well, if you want to know America, go to America, and see it yourself. It's just that simple.

I want to say something on the topic of racism, especially Western racism that has been troubling the US. I believe one major issue is the lack of respect, or putting personal freedom (freedom of speech) over respect. Emphasis of individualism over social responsibility. In China, most people look to the minority races as just "another Chinese". They are not labeled as "weak, deprived, crime prone". They are treated as part of the big family, and with respect.

Choosing leadership by selection based on performance is not foreign to peoples in the west, because that's how our companies are run, and how we achieved our economic successes. China applied the same method at the national scale and achieved national success, is that so hard to understand? To me, what is hard to understand is why we insist the way we (most of us anyway) make our living is not applicable to our politics? Perhaps we are brainwashed by a political class that wants to keep politics to themselves exclusively.

The world should not only have ONE governance system. If western think their system is better, just compete.
No need to hard-sell democracy. China will not buy it.

I like the part about what the Chinese thinks about US elections and the US way of selecting a president. The professor said that in China they have Selection + Election i.e. you must pass the civil service exam (which started in 581 C.E. in Sui Dynasty to select the best talent) and then if you want to make it to the 7-member Politburo (the highest governing body in China) you must have managed one of the larger Chinese province with a population more than 100 million people successfully for 2 consecutive terms before you can be considered for the politburo left alone president. Based on this requirements most US presidents does not qualify to join the politburo or to be President of China
