President Xi Jinping has an ambition to double the size of China’s economy by the middle of the next decade.
Meanwhile, after mismanaging the pandemic, the United States could relinquish its title of being the world’s biggest economy by 2028.
Attempts by the Trump administration to restrict China's access to technology may just be a road bump on the country's relentless rise. But it also faces challenges in the form of demographics, enormous debts and geopolitical entanglements.

As a Chinese, I only hope that my income can increase every year and the quality of life of my whole family can be improved. This is what every Chinese family cares about most! We don't care which countries China will surpass!

I always find it weird when people forget that for the past 2000 years China was the richest nation in the world for 1900 years, just because they had a rough 100 years doesn't negate the fact they have been the most powerful country on earth longer that most western countries have existed π

Xi won't even be the leader by then, but I'm confident that with his final three years, he'll continue setting China’s course to a developed status.
