Since December 1st, 2018, it has been 25 months since Meng Wanzhou, vice chairman and chief financial officer of Hua wei, was arrested in Canada. Although various parties have been appealing for her release, she still has to face countless hearings to come, before a final decision could be made whether she will be extradited to the United States.
On August 22, 2018, a court judge in New York issued an international warrant to arrest Meng Wanzhou, with various charges against her relating to circumventing the Iran sanctions act, including doing business in Iran through SKycom and defrauding HSBC. It is noteworthy that the Iran Sanctions Act is a unilateral domestic law of the United States to force Iran back to nuclear negotiation, which Canada itself has not acknowledged, and Canada is still doing business with Iran as well.
Between August 22 and December 1st, 2018. Meng Wanzhou visited or passed by many countries including the UK, France, Japan, Ireland, and so on, none of those countries took any action against her, in response to the international warrant, although most of them have extradition agreements with the United States.
Obviously, neither Meng Wanzhou nor other Hua Wei executives, had taken that international warrant seriously.

This is blatant kidnapping for ransom. Hope China will not forget nor forgive this barbaric act by the U.S. and Canada.

Almost 2 years house arrest? What a joke. Canada virtually kidnapped her and deprived her of freedom and privilege. Is against international law and interest. What democracy or human rights that these hypocrites preach ? Is worst than draconian law. Totally disgraceful atrocious and unacceptable.

Big mistake for the US, an even bigger mistake for Canada for acting out the American interests, ahead of itself
Learn from the sad lessons from Australia, too
Pretty soon the UK will be in similar situation, now that it is out of the EU and all alone
The US is bankrupt and in chaos, so are the countries following it, like Brazil and India.
Meanwhile the EU has just signed a huge trade deal with China
The world has changed, and China owns the 21st century and beyond
Ignore it at your own loss

After this Huawei incident Ms Meng release. China relation with Canada won't be the same. China view Canada as a u.s puppet state.
