It is a huge mistake, although it is a very beautiful coincidence. In Chinese, the pronunciation of China is more like tea, which is called Cha if pronounced in Mandarin, and has a history of over 6,000 years. 50 Comments augustin tio Add a public comment... forjw2 google forjw2 google 21 hours ago Chinese characters were used throughout Asia in the old days and Japan still use many Chinese characters, kanji 12 Ching-Kiong lang Ching-Kiong lang 19 hours ago Today noble peace price are distributed to War mongers ...encouraging more War mongers.. 6 picandvideo picandvideo 21 hours ago When a Nobel Peace Prize is announced better watch out! 😳🤔 5 Ben Louis Ben Louis 22 hours ago (edited) a lot of effort has put in. well done 10 Ben Louis Ben Louis 22 hours ago nobel price has lost it value and charm since it is mostly politicalise by its incompetence committee members. it is just another award. 9 William Ho William Ho 18 hours ago Fortunately he existed. Teo 21 hours ago Pleeease do proper scholarly research before producing this video covering such a profound topic as the character of the Chinese nation. Using glib, and somewhat humorous (aka cutesy) trite remarks in the narration, does not make it true. The notion of nationhood to Chinese is that as a civilizational state in accordance to the cultural compass of Confucius' teachings. It does not begin with the conception of the first emperor of Chin, whose dynasty ruled for 3+ years, almost 50% of China's largest geo-boundary extent in the peak years of the Qing dynasty. Although Qin Shi Huang introduced standardisation in measurements for commerce (weights and dimensions), he also burnt books and slaughtered intellectuals. His reign was very short duration, and he's more of a conqueror, like "Alexander the Great" (his full title given by his adversaries was actually "Alexander the Great Idiot" because he is a only a successful militant, not a Stateman), and his actual contribution to the Chinese civilizational statehood is comparatively little. The Chinese civilizational statehood is a product of several dynasties, with significant contributions from the Song, Han, Tang dynasties, but built on the concept of the Confucian notion of the State as a Family, in the vein of it being an extention of the concept of a nation as a family unit - " 国家" (note the word family in the word nation.) 6 Ben Louis Ben Louis 22 hours ago china great wall is an indication of chinese government has been protective for their own people at all cost since ancient time. it doesn’t matter how outsiders and history view at it. 6 KuMar Hiding A TimeBomb KuMar Hiding A TimeBomb 13 hours ago I seriously have no words for this channel DFW.. China, in Chinese, does not come from Chin or Qin. If we follow the western whims, the country is hanyin would be Qina. No, to the Chinese, it is Zhongquo, the Middle Kingdom. But the words, "China" and the "Chinese" is good enough.
