Daniel Alvarenga Daniel Alvarenga 5 years ago Barrios actually play steel strings with a piece of rubber that he invented that was placed at the bridge. I studied with one of his last student Candido Morales and he told the sad story that they were coming to new york to perform and record together but then he had a heart attack and died without leaving us with a clear quality sound recording. What a lost for the world!! 62 elbajomundo elbajomundo 7 years ago Agustín Barrios Mangoré, el más grande compositor de la historia de la guitarra clásica, qué música más bella nos regaló este genio paraguayo! 50 Ismael Rodriguez Ismael Rodriguez 2 years ago (edited) When I want to learn a composition by Barrios I come here and I listen to Maestro Barrios play it .Then I play it as close as Barrios wanted to be played with all the folkloric nuances and rhythmic grooves it was meant to be played. The problem of most guitarist (virtuosos) now a days is that they don't search for the style and roots of South American music they intend to play and they end up sounding to mechanical/dry and classical (like they were playing Bach, Schubert,Mozart, ect). It does not matter if you are the greatest virtuoso alive (doing scales at light speed) but if you don't respect the style/roots of the music and the composer vission and scope then the music will sound technically perfect but at the same time expressive wise empty/dry and soulless. 19 João Fernando Franco Tonsic João Fernando Franco Tonsic 2 years ago This is precious. That we can hear such a genius play his own compositions is a gift. 13 mario hector alfaro mario hector alfaro 7 years ago GENIAL ARTISTA PARAGUAYO, UNA GLORIA PARA SU PAIS 15 Michajeru Michajeru 6 years ago How wonderful to have access to these original recordings of this great genius. 22 iratzio esquivel iratzio esquivel 2 years ago Un verdadero tesoro!!!... gracias por compartir! 4 Jose Maria Tiscornia Algorta Jose Maria Tiscornia Algorta 4 years ago Que buen material hermano del gran maestro !! 3 Sarah Kraus Sarah Kraus 1 year ago (edited) Wow ¡la interpretacion de capricho arabe es estupendo! Also Aire Popular Paraguayo's title is "Caazapá", which is a Paraguayan popular air.
