JohnCwok JohnCwok 1 month ago (edited) While I'm concerned about China's rising, I find it ironic that US officials criticize China for building "ports" everywhere when they have actual military bases all around the world. 17 Skeeter Saurus Skeeter Saurus 1 month ago Military functionality was designed into the root of this system, and as with all military systems at the core of any technology (such as nuclear weapons), other 'peaceful systems' may arise from it, but make no mistake, the military functionality will remain (and eventually be used from it), regardless if the peaceful application remains, or not... Suzanne Jefferson Suzanne Jefferson 3 months ago Chinese government ownes homes here in Westchester N.Y . That they house Chinese workers in. Dan D Dan D 5 months ago (edited) America has more bases around the world. Nothing to be excited about a few China bases. 14 UMPA LUMPA UMPA LUMPA 1 month ago true... 1 Sylvain D Sylvain D 3 months ago Nice presentation from M Rusell. It is aligned with the US discours that China are the bad one. When the #1 ruler is at risk of losing is place we assist that kind of arguments and many weaponise actions are made like the swift, semiconductor, Huawei ban.... 2 Farouq Nkonge Farouq Nkonge 5 months ago (edited) It makes sense because they have to protect their interests. If United States and Europe have bases around the world to protect their interests, I find it reasonable for China to do the same 96 Prince Sami Prince Sami 2 months ago Bangladesh not going to engage 😘 Seo Kok Ing Seo Kok Ing 5 months ago Really has China weaponise any infrastructure built so far? 7 Pito Pito 5 months ago what a bad example to pick up djibouti. there are 5 countries station in djibouti. USA, france , italy , china and japan......so it is not only china there 30 Peiping Peiping 5 months ago I just find it funny how American military is talking about the threats of BRI, because these civilian ports might supply military in the future. Meanwhile, the US has actual military ports all over the world already. 67 Mohd Sharkawi Lu Abdullah Mohd Sharkawi Lu Abdullah 5 months ago I can see nothing is wrong with the BRI. Instead of raising suspicions on Chinese initiative, its all self professed as smart planning, putting those ports in maximum usage. Brilliant moves indeed on the Chinese initiatives. 55 Peter Lim Peter Lim 5 months ago Well looks like only the USA can build bases all round the world and the rest can’t 68 John Lewis John Lewis 2 weeks ago (edited) Simply BRI is pacing Chinese Economic Dominance. Win for China. But can be a win for client counties if they manage loan well. Better infrastructure increase GDP which results into more Purchasing Power for people to purchase more products from china. BTW That's what British Empire and USA did in their times. PrimaImperator PrimaImperator 3 months ago And why shouldn't China do this? After all, US has 800 military bases all over the world
